- Wiktionary is a set of projects of the Wikimedia Foundation. Each Wiktionary uses another presentation language. Wiktionaries aim to include all words of all languages. To do this, the standard MediaWiki functionality is used. The consequence is that the data is best used with a browser. As the data is not available in a structured manner, it is hard to retrieve information out of a Wiktionary project for other purposes. Different Wiktionaries present and group their data in different ways, in part even not very systematically within one Wiktionary.
The most lively project is the English Wiktionary it has a great community with some very dedicated people. Most of the other projects struggle to survive.
