The World Language Documentation Centre is a non-profit organisation that champions linguistic research and facilitates the needs of linguistic communities. The WLDC has its inaugural meeting on May 9th 2007.

As the WLDC and Stichting Open Progress share many of the same ideals, and are complementary in their aims, it is natural for the two organisations to collaborate.
